Rest Easy My Beautiful Girl
Dear God,
Please remember these few things when taking care of my girl. She likes to walk
back and forth in the pond, chasing the
blue gills, watching close for you to reel in the "big one." She will then "hold" the
stringer for you. Please take her fishing.
The lizards in the tree stumps won't be safe anymore, so you'd better hide the
lizards. If you
put dog bones in your robes, She will "wave" at you until you give her one. Give her
two.
Her day bed is the one closest to the fireplace. If there is a boy lying in it she will
come and rest
her head on your knee until you remove him. Her bedtime is 8 pm; please help her
up the stairs.
Don't leave freshly baked pies on the counter, no matter how crippled she becomes;
she will always eat it. Blueberry is her favorite, with just a little cinnamon.
If there is a child in the water she will bring it out, especially if it is having a good
time. If there is a small
child walking with a cracker, she will keep the child from overeating. Please give her
a child to follow.
Don't leave any ladders leaning against your house, she will be found on the roof. I
hope there is a playground
nearby with lots of kids, she will wait her turn at the slide, and bark when he gets to
the bottom.
Be careful when you spell out words like "C-A-R R-I-DE" and "E-A-T," even "B-U-N-N-
Y."
She knows how to spell, you had better be ready to follow through.
When you take her on a trip, and stop to rest, just tell her to "be a Good Girl," she will
squat down whether she has to
go or not. She can't "go" with a leash on, it makes her cough. In fact don't even show
her a leash, she will choke. She also
can't go for a walk without her Dummy in her mouth, She can't make it past the gate,
she likes the orange one the best.
The top of her head will become pointed if you don't kiss it often during the day.
Then her hats won't fit. She can't sleep unless she is on the right side of the bed.
When you give her a marrow bone, make sure her mom is there too,
she likes to use her back as a table and get her all slimy.
If you tell her to "stay," make sure you come
back to release her, she will stay there for days.
During the football games, if you get a chip, she gets a chip.
She doesn't like the nuts with the shell on them, peel them please.
If you go to the lake then stop for ice cream on the way home,
she always gets the first lick and then the bottom of the cone too, please.
Don't use a Buoy to tie off your boat, she will spend all afternoon trying to drag it to
shore.
If you take her camping, she has to sleep between you and Mrs. God, on the softest
part of the foam pad.
Don't get mad at her when you come home and her head is in the dog food bin,
She has to stretch her stomach muscles every now and then.
That's all for now God. Tell her we love her,
miss her and hope she likes the food up there.

To My Dearest Family
There are some things I’d like to say. But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived
okay. I’m writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above. Here there’s no
more tears of sadness. Here is just eternal love. Please do not be unhappy just
because I am out of sight.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through. God picked me up
and hugged me and He said “I welcome you. It’s good to have you back again, you
were missed while you were gone. As for your dearest family, they’ll be here later
on. I need you here badly, you’re part of my plan. There’s so much that we have to
do, to help our mortal man.” God gave me a list of things, that He wished for me to
do. And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you. And when you lie in bed
at night the day’s chores put to flight. God and I are closest to you….in the middle of
the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all of those loving years. Because you are
only human, they are bound to bring you to tears. But do not be afraid to cry: it does
relieve the pain. Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some
rain. I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned. If I were to tell you, you
wouldn’t understand. But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o’er I’m
closer to you now, than I ever was before. There are many rocky roads ahead of you
and many hills to climb; But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I’d like it for you too; That as you give unto the
world, the world will give to you. If you can help somebody who’s in sorrow and in
pain; Then you can say to God at night…..”My day was not in vain.” And now I am
contented…..that my life was worthwhile. Knowing as I passed along the way I’d
make somebody smile. So if you meet somebody who’s sad or feeling low; Just
lend a hand to pick them up, as on your way you go. When you’re walking down the
street and you’ve got me on your mind; I’m walking in your footsteps only half a step
behind. And when it’s time for you to go…..from that body to be free. Remember you’
re not going….you’re coming here to me.
